The Challenge
A two-phase tenant improvement project in an active, mission-critical data center environment required precise coordination, careful logistics, and continuous attention to life safety — all while the facility remained fully occupied throughout construction. Protecting critical equipment and maintaining operational continuity were non-negotiable.
Scope
- $10M project value
- 10,000 SF across two phases
- Phase I: exterior AHU installations concealed by metal panel screen wall, new flatwork, landscaping, and interior pre-action fire protection, ductwork, and electrical modifications
- Phase II: interior demolition followed by full MEP/FP upgrades and new interior finishes
Chilbuild’s Role
Served as Superintendent and primary on-site liaison between the construction team and the ownership facilities and operations staff. Led execution across both phases with direct responsibility for logistics, phasing, life safety planning, and MEP coordination in a live environment.
